Let’s face it; when there is an opportunity to save money, why wouldn’t you? According to a study by the Society of Human Resource Management, the average cost to hire a new employee is $4,129, with an average of 52 days to fill a position. The longer that position stays open, the more it costs your company- and by cost, I mean, money, time, productivity, and end goals.

Hiring professionals have said they spend about 1/3 of their workweek actively sourcing candidates for a single role. When the manager must take time away from their primary duties to try and fill a position, it costs the company in terms of both time and money.

Almost 50% of all applications come from job boards, followed by internal career sites at 35%. However, less than 1% of candidates who apply through these methods are offered the job. Desperate job seekers, or active job seekers, will apply to any and every job they see, regardless of if they’re qualified or not. These are the type of resumes you probably see come through your application site. The candidates that you want to see are the passive candidates, making up 73% of the market. Passive professionals are a bit harder to reach and pique interest in, but there are ways to get through!

The most significant investment a company can make is in hiring the best employees for the company. Why not limit the cost of filling a position on your own by hiring professionals to do it for you!
